The 11th edition of the Tmavomodrý večer, organized by Rotary Club Hradec Králové, was a night to remember. This annual event, which raised an impressive 100,000 CZK, supported young patients at the Hemato-Oncology Department of the Children's Clinic at the Faculty Hospital in Hradec Králové (FN HK).
The festive season of 2023 brought not just joy and celebration, but also a wave of generosity and community spirit, thanks to the 3rd Annual Christmas Collection drive. This heartwarming initiative, led by Rotaract Hradec Králové (RAC HK) in collaboration with Erasmus Student Network Hradec Králové (ESN HK) and supported by the University of Hradec Králové (UHK), was a resounding success, spreading happiness among children in need. This year's collection was focused on brightening the lives of children from several institutions: the Children's Home in Pardubice, the Children's Home in Holice, the Children's Diagnostic Institute of Hradec Králové (DDÚ HK), and the Shelter for Mothers with Children in Hradec Králové (Azylový dům pro matky s dětmi HK). These organizations, dedicated to caring for children in challenging situations, were chosen to ensure that the holiday cheer reached the most deserving.
On August 5th, 2023, we had the privilege of spending a rainy day with the children from Sedloňov Children's Home. Despite the weather forcing us indoors, we made sure the children had an unforgettable experience.
On Wednesday 26. 7. 2022 RAC Hradec Kralove organized with the organization Děti v akci a great day for kids from Dětský diagnostický ústav Hradec Králové (DDÚ HK).At first, we visited Salt Cave OASA MEDICAL in Černilov. For all of the kids, it was a first time being in such salt cave. Kids were amazed by playing with a pieces of salt and they enjoyed buryingtheir hands or feets in a mound of salt. Afterwards we had lunch in DDÚ HK and then we drove to Dvůr Králové nad Labem where we visited a ZOO. We had arranged a short guided tourthrough part of the ZOO. The guide lady provided us with many interesting informationabout animals. After the tour we jumped into the Safari track and had a ride through African Safari where the animals (zebras, giraffes, lions etc) were so close to us! Such a great experience! This safari track ride was commented as well which was just breathtaking. At the end of the day kids from DDÚ HK gave us a small presents which they had made by themselves as a thanks for organizing such a nice day.
In a remarkable display of community collaboration and environmental stewardship, Rotaract Hradec Kralove and Rotary Hradec Kralove joined forces on June 24, 2023, to clean and revitalize Stříbrňák Pond, a cherished water body located in Hradec Králové. With the shared vision of creating a cleaner future and making the area nicer, the volunteers dedicated themselves to the task at hand. Armed with tools and unwavering determination, we tirelessly cleared the pond area of debris, waste, pinecones and unwanted weed, restoring its pristine charm. The presence of Youth Exchange students added an extra layer of significance, as it highlighted the project's universal value of environmental preservation and cultural exchange.
Every year in Hradec Kralove a festival called "Open Skies for Handicapped" takes place. The festival brings an important message of inclusion and equality and opens people's eyes to better understand and appreciate diversity. Rotaract had the opportunity to participate in this amazing event this year in partnership with Guncentrum. The Open Skies for Handicapped Festival began in 2010 as a small event organized by a group of volunteers and organizations dedicated to supporting people with disabilities. Since then, it has become an annual tradition that has enjoyed growing interest and support from the local community and visitors from around the region. The Open Skies for the Handicapped Festival offers a diverse programme including: Artistic performances, workshops and educational lectures, various recreational activities, exhibits, technology demonstrations and more. Rotaract in cooperation with Guncentre provided shooting activities for the festival this year, where festival participants could try shooting airsoft guns, wind guns and there was also a small demonstration of sport archery. The main message of the festival "Open Skies for Handicapped" is to show that people with disabilities have their own talents, skills and beautiful view of the world. The inclusive and open environment of the festival reinforces the importance of cooperation and mutual respect between all people regardless of their abilities or limitations.
On April 22, 2023, Rotaract Hradec Králové, in collaboration with Trash Hero HK and ESN HK (Erasmus Student Network Hradec Králové), organized a remarkable cleanup project in honor of Earth Day. The event took place at Mileta Park in Hradec Králové, where dedicated volunteers came together to make a positive impact on the local environment.
In an exciting partnership with the Yenikoy Rotaract Club, we embarked on a delightful culinary journey that transcended geographical boundaries. The essence of our project revolved around swapping recipes of traditional meals from our home countries and then whipping up the dish shared by the partner club.

For the Europe Day 2022 we organized a Human Library event in collaboration with Erasmus Student Network HK and University of Hradec Králové, as part of the celebrations organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Hradec Kralove.
On May 1st 2022, our volunteers joined forces with Nová Akropolis Hradec Králové, Uklidíme Česko and Trash Hero Hradec Králové for an Earth Day project: to clean up the Biricka lake after the festivities of the Burning of the Witch festival.
