After the opening of our regular meeting by Klaus Pilz, our guest, DG Mr. Lang was offered to inform us about any new activities within our district. In particular, he mentioned our Rotary International President Kalyan Banayre and the motto "Reach within to Embrace Humanity" for this running period.
Further, he emphasized that unfortunately there is an decrease of the numbers of our members. For instance, this year, only 1 new RC will be opened - the RC Levice. In the process of foundation are however the following clubs: RC Karlovy Vary, RC Trebisov and RC Prague Gold.
Thus, we all should try to suggest at least 1 new member for each period. A special focus shall be designated for young members. Also, it will be much appreciated if some of our members - in particular those who have already gained experience - will support other clubs in their foundation process. We shall also support our Hungarian clubs, in particular, the RC Dunajska Streda.
Mr. Lang mentioned that the Rotary youth Exchange programme is one of our basic principles. He very much appreciated our clubs enormous activities in this regard.
Finally, we should support the fellowships. i.e. golfers, skiers, cyclists, artists, etc, despite of the fact to which club each member belongs.
At the end Klaus reminded us to apply for the trip to Regensburg at the weekend 23 to 25th of September 2011 to meet our partner club RC Coburg. All members shall invite their spouses, children and friends. Departure from Bratislava shall take place not later than 3 pm Friday afternoon. We will check whether a Minibus shall be necessary.
Let me finally announce you that in our Happy&Lucky Saving box we were able to collect an amount of EUR 160,60!!
