The festive season of 2023 brought not just joy and celebration, but also a wave of generosity and community spirit, thanks to the 3rd Annual Christmas Collection drive. This heartwarming initiative, led by Rotaract Hradec Králové (RAC HK) in collaboration with Erasmus Student Network Hradec Králové (ESN HK) and supported by the University of Hradec Králové (UHK), was a resounding success, spreading happiness among children in need. This year's collection was focused on brightening the lives of children from several institutions: the Children's Home in Pardubice, the Children's Home in Holice, the Children's Diagnostic Institute of Hradec Králové (DDÚ HK), and the Shelter for Mothers with Children in Hradec Králové (Azylový dům pro matky s dětmi HK). These organizations, dedicated to caring for children in challenging situations, were chosen to ensure that the holiday cheer reached the most deserving.
The spirit of giving was palpable throughout Hradec Králové, as numerous collection points were set up across the city. Notable collection sites included the ZŠ a MŠ Malšova Lohota, several buildings of UHK where collection boxes were placed, the Medical Faculty of the Military University in Hradec Králové, and the Orlice Park shopping center. The overwhelming response from the community resulted in an impressive array of gifts, from toys and books to clothing and essential items.
The joy and excitement of the children upon receiving these gifts were immeasurable. The success of this initiative not only brought smiles to the faces of young ones but also highlighted the power of community and collaboration. It demonstrated how collective efforts can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need, especially during the holiday season.
As we wrap up the 3rd Annual Christmas Collection, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed, volunteered, and supported this cause. Your generosity and spirit of giving have made this event a beacon of hope and joy. We look forward to continuing this tradition of giving in the coming years, and we hope to see even more members of our community join us in these efforts to make each holiday season a bit brighter for those in need.
