On Sunday, September 26, 2021, the Church of the Holy Spirit in Hradec Králové came alive with the beautiful melodies of A. Dvořák, B. Smetana, and other renowned composers during the Charity Concert featuring the performances of czech opera singer Andrea Kalivodová and the Czech Boys Choir BONI PUERI with choirmaster Pavel Horák. BONI PUERI belongs to the most important European musical ensembles. During the concert Andrea Kalivodová introduced some of her most famous roles in the opera repertoire, including the world-wide known Carmen. The event was made possible through the efforts of Rotary Club Hradec Kralove and Rotaract Club Hradec Kralove. Rotaract Hradec Králové was helping with the organization.
The goal of the charity concert was to support Endowment Fund MUDr. Stanislav Novák for talented students who have talent in one of the fields (music, art, science etc.), but their family's financial situation would not allow them to develop their talent. Many children or students have already been supported from this fund (pianist Matyáš Novák, support for the Formula project from students of J.K.Tyl, support for talented students of the First Private Language Grammar School at the ICYS scientific conference etc.).
The concert turned out to have a great success. By this event was collected an impressive total of 187,000 CZK which was given as a check to Ing. Roman Šimek, the Chairman of the Endowment Fund. To further commemorate this occasion, a book presentation about the founder of the Endowment Fund (MUDr. Stanislav Novák) was realized. Patrons of the book included Stanislav Novák's wife Mrs. Růžena Šlemínová-Nováková and members of the Rotary Club Hradec Kralove - Ing. Petr Novotný, Ing. Otakar Divíšek, Doc. MUDr. Karel Karpaš, CSc. and Ing. David Kafka.
