Ruediger has made presentation on the merger of Tcom and Tmobile in Slovakia. He talked about Principles, approaches and the way how to find compromises. He introduced a new term : the „banana“ issue as a one of the difficult and forgotten issue. The BCG has been used to help design the whole process. Reasons behind the merge: deliver all services seamlessly on your pc, your mobile, your TV and your car. Discussion was rich and touched many areas related to the merger.
Visit of DG Martin Timr and Governor Elect, Tomaš Lang and Jozef Klíma, assistant of DG and member of Rotary club Kosice. Martin has made his speech about his ongoing visit of all the clubs within district in two countries. He found a lot of friends during this tour. Regarding the membership this district is not the biggest from the membership point of view. It is our aim to grow the number of the Rotarians, including the women, he stated. He acknowledged the work in the field of Rotaract. Bratislava danube with its involvement is one of the most active clubs in the whole ditrict. peter has notified Martin Timr, that the biggest role and full appreciations belongs to Heinrich von Hollen. After the introduction of each member to the Governor we have discussed several topics : Heinrich have asked Governor : What are we doing to link Slovakia with Ukraine and Russia? Answer: The clubs in east Slovakia have a big plans to cooperate with Ukraine, but there are Schengen´s borders. This is a barrier. But we are trying to promote cooperation. Jozef Klíma, his assistant has added: We have been working one year to achieve contract of cooperation (bilateral agreements, supported by Police) which is opening the doors for Rotarians from Uzhorod. Head of West Karpatian Police region is member of the club and that helped to ease this barrier. Peter Kucer has open discussion on Rotary ball 2011: It was agreed that Peter Princ will be responsible for Roatary ball 2011. He explained what he is planning – less costs, higher level of socializing and higher quality. There is remaining issue : the fundraising. It should be clearly defined what will be the main purpose of donation this year. All three clubs from Bratislava should agree what we are going to sponsor. Members are asked to provide ideas to Milos or Peter by Friday this week. Peter informed that Board has received only three proposals for charity this year and all three will be supported in total amount of 5.000 EUR. We have received invitation for Rotary Int. Convention in New Orleans at the end of may 2011. Milos has been nominated as a assistant of Governor Elect in Rotary year 2011-2012. Heinrich proposed to make a club event - visit of Marianka Church on Dec. 13 instead of regular meeting in Arcadia. Martin Sloboda will ask all members to respond if they will participate.
