Rotaract Hradec Králové, in partnership with ESN HK (Erasmus Student Network Hradec Králové) and Děti v akci, organized an incredible initiative called Saving Xmas in October - December 2021. This inaugural event aimed to bring happiness and holiday cheer to 100 children from three different institutions in Hradec Králové: Dětský domov Sedloňov, Dětský diagnostický ústav Hradec Králové (Plotiště), and Azylový dům pro matky s dětmi Hradec Králové (Pouchov).
The project received an overwhelming response from the community, allowing us, the organizers, to collect generous present donations from the public. With great care and attention, we selected and wrapped Christmas presents that matched each child's age. The joy and excitement on the children's faces were priceless and served as a powerful reminder of the impact this collaborative effort had on their lives.
The success of the Saving Xmas project was made possible through the combined efforts and unwavering dedication of Rotaract Hradec Králové, ESN HK, and Děti v akci. The support from schools, the University of Hradec Králové, and various partners who hosted donation boxes across the Hradec Králové city further strengthened the project's impact and brought the community closer together.
In conclusion, the first year of the Saving Xmas project was a heartwarming success. The initiative showcased the power of collaboration and the ability to spread joy and hope to those who need it the most. Inspired by this achievement, the project will continue in the following years, allowing even more children in the Hradec Králové region to experience the magic of Christmas and receive gifts that bring smiles to their faces.
